• How can I donate? We welcome donations from our family, friends, and neighbors. The Apiary is a 501(c)(3) corporation, meaning we operate as a nonprofit. All donations will be spent directly on supplies, experiences, and trips for the students. Donations are tax deductible. You can donate at this link. • What happens if the teacher is sick? If the teacher is too ill to attend school that day, parent substitute volunteers will be called according to indicated hours and availability. Supplemental substitute plans are available in a binder in the classroom and these plans require no prior preparation or special materials. Parents can choose a daily plan that appeals to them or share an area of their own expertise. Substitutes will be compensated for their time and will need to complete a background check.

• How will I know what my child is learning? Students are responsible for bringing a folder to and from school each day. The folder will contain progress for certain tasks, standards, and skills in reading and math. The folder will also contain assignments (e.g., performing arts prompts). Any assignments are put in the folder at least one week prior to their due date. Upcoming topics and events will be given to parents in a monthly calendar, provided 2 weeks before the start of each month. We will also share photos and activities through our shared app (for members only, requires parent waiver.)

• How can I contact the teacher? The teacher will reply to emails during regular business hours: jeliason@apiarymicroschool.com. Parents can use the remind app to contact the teacher by cell.  Out of respect to neighbors, other parents, and the traffic we create on a residential street, the teacher will not be available to conference during pick up and drop off.

• Can I volunteer in the classroom? We love our parent volunteers! Please arrange your visit with the teacher at least 24 hours in advance. Field Trip Fridays are open to parents and younger siblings with rare exceptions.

• Where can I find public records for the Apiary? We are in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status. As a nonprofit entity, all public records required by law will be accessible via link on this website pending IRS approval.
